Trentino-Alto Adige is situated in the extreme north of Italy to the border with Austria. The southern
part of this region is the Trentino that takes its name from the chief town, Trento from the latin Tridentum (ancient
town hall), while the northern part , Alto Adige, is so-called because it' s situated in the basin of the upper
watercourse of the Adige river. In Adige there are three linguistic groups: German, Italian and the ancient language
ladina, going back to the period of the Roman presence at the alpine zone. It has obvious analogies with Castilian,
Proven? and Catalan language, present still in some places such as Val Gardena, Val Abbey, Val di Fassa, Livinallongo
and Ampezzo. Trentino is to land full of mountains and lakes, there are 300 (three hundred) large and small stretches
of water , where is possible to practice fishing and yachting. It provides wonderful and incomparable landscapes: to
natural stage made of boundless (unlimited) meadows, valleys and mountains, among these there are the Dolomiti, the
most beautiful mountains around the world, but above all they are unique, because they change color during the day,
in conformity the sunlight.
