Region of southern Italy, its historical name was Puglia deriving from the ancient population of the
Apuli. Wherever it's possible to perceive (to notice) the signs of the several cultures and civilizations which, during
the centuries, made this region unique, above all for the historical finds. The tourism is, of course, one of its strong
points, thanks to the charming sea and the cities of art like Lecce, famous for the baroque churches, and the bizantina
Otranto with the suggestive ancient village. The coast extends for eight hundred km, it presents high projected reef (at
projection on the sea) from Otranto to Leuca, and to long ionic beach from Leuca until Metaponto. The image of the wonderful
castle with octagonal plant, Castle of the Mount (Andria), wanted by the emperor Federico II of Svevia, is one of the eight
images that illustrate the Italian Eurocoins.
