The region is situated in the Centre of Italy, is small and few populated like Valle d'Aosta. Its name
derives, probably, from the adjective form millstone, or molinum, from which molenses, which means inhabitants near the
flour mill (There are several hypotheses for the origin of its name, between these the derivation from the adjective
shape of Mola or molinum, from which molenses, inhabitants near the mola or flour mill). Molise has two supremacies in
the Europe: it is the first producer of white truffle and it is an important uncontaminated green area. It's an ideal
goal for calm, simple and quiet holidays: in the summer on Termoli beaches, and in the winter (Stazione sciistica) at the
ski resort of Campitiello Matese. Many elements contribute to form the fascinating historical memory of this extraordinary
region: medieval villages, Sanniti and Roman archaeological finds.
