Friuli-Venezia Giulia is situated in the north-east of Italy. It was born in 1948 with (through)
the aggregation of two separated regions, at that time: Friuli and Venezia Giulia, it has to special charter since 1964.
The name of this region comes from : Friuli, originally "Forum Julii", name of to trade centre (forum = market); Venice
Julia, instead, derives from the name of its inhabitants Veneti, and the "Gens Iulia", the family to which Jule Cesar
belonged. It' s an interesting tourist goal all through the year: for sea lovers during the summer, and for who is
passionate of mountain during the winter. Friuli-Venezia Giulia, rich land of traditions, is all to discover: it's an
ensemble of places of art, medieval villages, imposing castles, precious museums, archaeological site and famous places
of cult well-known to the pilgrims of all the world.
