It's situated in the south of Italy, bathed by the Tyrrhenian Sea. The name derives from
the Latin word ?campus? that means campaign: at the Roman age the area in the outskirtses of Capua was individualized
with the name Agro Capuano, which became Agro Campano later on, and at the end Campania. It's to
characteristic goal for tourists from every part of the world. Campania, luxuriant region of vegetation, offers to mild
climate and very lovely landscapes. The sea gives prominence to evocative scenes and charming views. Along the coast it
is possible to notice numerous creeks, to admire steep reefs, to gaze at calm bays in front of which there are the
wonderful and delightful islands of the Campania: Ischia, Capri and Procida. One of
the chief characteristics of this region is the presence of volcanos like Campi Flegrei with the solfatara of Pozzuoli
and the Vesuvio, high 1281m, in to dormancy state from the end of years '40.
This region has to big artistic and cultural patrimony: the archaeological seats in Pompei and
Paestum; Campi Flegrei, an active volcano; the archaeological park in Baia, these wonders attract many tourists to year.
